Young Kestrel sculpture carved in Ancaster Weatherbed Limestone.
Three young fledged from the Kestrel nest box this year. When they took their first flights (still sporting their fluffy down) it was a rather ungainly affair. Their parents gave them flying 'lessons' encouraging them to make longer, higher forays. They learned quickly, but it did take time for them to master hovering.
