A small, pale insect lives inside 'cuckoo spit' - it is a spittlebug/froghopper nymph.

As a youngster I was always fascinated by this spit (white frothy liquid) found on many plants in Spring, and investigated. There in the middle was this tiny, bug-eyed, beauty.

I've carved it now in the suitably pastel yellow Tadcaster Limestone to create this Spittlebug sculpture, which brings back memories of exploring fields and meadows and searching for butterflies, beetles and insects.

The sculpture is suitable for indoors or outside in the garden.
