Bookcase Bird
£330.00
Bird sculpture carved in the delightfully mottled Cornish soapstone.
Earlier in the year a bird flew into the house through an open window and landed on the bookcase. I tried to encourage it back out, towards the window, but it flew straight past, circling back to the bookcase. It perched on the top. Whatever I did it kept returning to its spot with the books. I think it must have liked it there. In the end I left it alone, hoping it would find its own way out, which eventually it did.
I've carved this bird in stone as a little reminder and token of my visitor.
